Royal Jozini Tiger Fishing Festival 2024

THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY 

  • All Boats must be over 3.2 Meters in length 
  • Boats must keep 100meters away from Hippo, Crocodiles and ANY dangerous Game. 
  • Boats approaching another boat anchored, must keep 50 meters away and adopt the “NO WAKE” approach. 
  • Competitors may fish anywhere on the lake except West of the railway line crossing the Pongola River. 
  • The channel at the Northern tip of the dam inside Swaziland is a no-wake zone.
  • Please respect other angler’s territory, (at least 50m from each other). 
  • NO Beaching on ANY Land, except in an Emergency. 
  • NO Littering on the Dam.
  • ALL Skippers to advise the competition organiser of their return daily.
  • Skippers and respective crews will be responsible for the behavior of their teammates.
  • Fishing Hours – 05h30 to 18h00 on Friday 11th October & 05h30 to 15h00 on Saturday 12th October. 
  • No line weight restriction

 

MEASURING AND RECORDING PROCESS

TIGERFISH

  • All fish are to be video recorded against an official tournament measuring template supplied by the organizer.
  • The fish needs to be laid flat with the V of the tail corresponding with the point on the official tournament measuring template.
  • The fish must lie in the same direction (L to R) as depicted in the graphics on the template.
  • The video should clearly show the fair position of the V as well as the snout of the fish and call out the measurement of the fish to confirm you have noted that detail. 
  • Fish to be released in the shortest possible time ensuring that all measures are taken to revive the fish if this is necessary.

BARBEL

  • The fish needs to be placed, as depicted, on the reverse (turn template 180°) of the official template.
  • Whiskers are to be fully extended

N.B. Please note that images sent must be in focus and validation and acceptance will be at the sole discretion of the SCORE MASTER. Any perceived attempts to alter or ‘doctor’ any image will result in the immediate disqualification of the crew/boat from the event.
