THE ROYAL JOZINI TIGER FISHING FESTIVAL
COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
11th – 12th OCTOBER 2024
Having changed our rules in 2021, the Royal Jozini Tiger Fishing Festival continues with the ethos of basing our competition on fish length rather than weight. Unlike other weight-based competitions which can result in unacceptably high fish mortalities, the true objective of converting to fish length is to limit injury and mortality caused by scale hooks, Boga grips and time out the water.
Weighing of fish is strongly discouraged as the weight has no bearing whatsoever on the results. In 2024 we will be using the KEEPNET APP to manage the entries of all fish caught. All qualifying fish are to be video recorded against an official tournament measuring template supplied by the organizer. The video should clearly show the fair position of the V as well as the snout of the fish and call out the measurement of the fish to confirm you have noted that detail.
We will be sending out a short video clip on how to use the KEEPNET App prior to the competition commencing, all competitors will be loaded onto the app and a compulsory ‘’test run submission’’ will be expected by all skippers to ensure each team understands how to use the KEEPNET app prior to the commencement of the competition.
Honor and true gamesmanship remain central to our Tiger Fishing Festival, and these values are linked to a strong conservation awareness.
